Product designer & developer
I build calm, considered software — things that feel obvious in hindsight.
I’m Alex, a designer and engineer working at the seam between the two. For the past decade I’ve helped teams turn tangled problems into products that are quiet, fast, and a little bit joyful to use.
About
I care about the parts of a product people never notice—the loading state that doesn’t flash, the empty screen that tells you what to do next, the copy that reads like a person wrote it. Good software gets out of the way.
My background is split down the middle: half studio-trained designer, half self-taught engineer. That means I can take an idea from a scribble on a napkin all the way to something running in production, without much lost in translation along the way.
Lately I’ve been thinking about interfaces that respect attention, tools that feel like instruments, and how to make the digital world a quieter place to be.
